Will A New App Do It For Online Gambling?

As you undoubtedly know, a significant portion of the world seems to be in a headlong rush to embrace mobile apps. At the exact same time, you are most likely full aware that the state of online casinos and online gambling around the world is a hit or miss type of affair. Well it turns out that there is a new startup company out there with a new app that threatens to upend the state of online gambling around the world.
This new startup goes by the name Unikrn. Interestingly, Unikrn only just recently received yet another round of funding, something like an additional $7Million in fresh new capital to bring the product to market. Based on current valuations, Unikrn is estimated to be worth around $40Million.
Here’s what is fascinating about this story. Unikrn is essentially a platform for wagering on e-sports. Huh? What does that mean? E-sports (shorthand for electronic sports) is a term being used for wagering on the outcomes of video games played as spectator sports. Yes, it may seem odd when you first read it. Yet don’t let the novelty of the idea throw you off. In fact just look at the comment from one of the investors in Unikrn.
Jonathan Teo (investor) was quoted as saying: “Millions of people watch competitive gaming globally, we believe the industry has hit an inflection point and this is just the tip of the iceberg for where this new sport can go”. Wow, okay so there you go. You have some pretty big dollars being thrown into a whole new online gambling venue.
If you pause for just a minute and reflect, you will quickly come to the conclusion that the state of online gambling is in the midst of a growth spurt. Perhaps the new e-sports betting app by Unikrn will be the proverbial straw that breaks the camel’s back and ushers in a whole new era of online gambling choices around the world.
